I haven’t been home in years, but when my best friend Stacy calls me and announces she’s engaged, I knew I’d be rolling back into my small town. We grew up in the middle of Montana and while I moved away to pursue my dreams, she stayed back home.
In a matter of weeks after her engagement she asked that I catch a flight and help her with planning her wedding. She asked me to be her maid of honor and I knew the responsibilities would soon be piling up. I expected to be looking for caterers, helping her find a dress, and the usual wedding stuff. But, Stacy hasn’t ever been like every other woman. She’s unique, and so I find myself going out hunting with her and her brother, Seth.
Only, the day we’re supposed to go hunting Amelia bails because she doesn’t feel well. Now I’m stuck alone with Seth, and while we’re up in the stand something intense happens. He kisses me, and then it goes straight into us ripping our clothes off and having intense sex. When we’re done we act like nothing happened. In fact, we both agree it would be a terrible idea to acknowledge it. But, the more time that passes makes me realize I can’t hide this. Not even if I wanted to.
I fly out numerous times over a six month period, and every time I do, I’m brought face-to-face with the one temptation that I’m trying so desperately to stay away from.
I’m at a crossroads, and I don’t know what I’m going to do.
